In our EvEn project at Northwestern University, my team and I set out to create a hypothetical business focused on environmental sustainability within university settings. Our shared vision was to tackle the noticeable environmental degradation on campuses and develop innovative solutions to make universities more environmentally conscious. As part of this initiative, I was deeply involved in conceptualizing affordable and efficient strategies to conserve energy and foster sustainable environments in educational institutions.

Our approach to the EvEn project included two key divisions: Consulting and Research. I played a significant role in the Consulting arm, engaging directly with clients and developing practical solutions. Meanwhile, our Research Labs were dedicated to environmental studies and innovative product development. I contributed to establishing a structure that promoted effective coordination, with executive members leading independent teams to implement strategic plans. A significant part of my focus was on creating a supportive work environment, advocating for initiatives like paid mental health days and inclusive orientations for new hires, underscoring our commitment to employee well-being and integration.

A practical application of our strategies was demonstrated in a case study where we achieved a 28% reduction in energy consumption at a university. This success, achieved through methods like LED lighting and the use of bioluminescence, not only showcased our innovative approach but also earned recognition for our consultancy. Through this theoretical exercise, I showcased my ability to adapt to various roles and apply ambitious yet realistic business ideas, skills crucial for a role in business strategy analysis.
